Joe made our trip.  We paid for a full day and ending up spending 3 days with him on and off the water.  Which he did not have to do.  I have used guides before, not for fish but hunting and none of those guide had ever given me the service Joe did.  Truly a 5 star experience!!!
 
Joe had us on fish almost the entire trip, minus 1 day which was not his fault.  Its kind hard to catch fish in high winds with waves over 3 feet on Dardanelle... But we still landed a few.
 
Between the 3 of us, in the 3 days, fishing for roughly 4 hours a day I bet we caught over 125 bass, not to mention a few pan fish that Joe caught while bass fishing. 
 
The only thing I did not get to do, is use my favorite pole. (Joe knows why!) Ha Ha Ha

Jerry, we truly enjoy being around you, you're always professional and polite, and you're one of the hardest working professional guides we've ever been around.  One of the reasons we stuck with your service is that we're always learning something new when we're out with you.  Yes, we like to catch the fish, and yes we like the action, but we're always looking to improve our own skills.  When we have you around we know we've got the best of both worlds, good spirits, action, and we're learning something all at once about seasonal fishing applications, and how to get the best results.  So what did I learn from Jerry Blake on our Canada fishing trip, well, here you go.
 
Jerry applied his local fishing patterns, (I.E. fishing with famous Lake Greeson jig's 90% of the time).  He tried a few straight multi colored jig heads, but he eventually went back to the Shinee Hinee, tipped with live bait, when our local Indian guide and the rest of us were fishing with multi colored jig heads tipped with minnows, sometimes we all had the same color on, that is except Jerry!  I never did ask him, but I've got him pretty figured out from all the hours we've spent together on the water of why he was using it, and plain and simple,  "It was something different for the fish to look at, and they loved it".  Burt our local guide that we use at Red Deer Lodge is an excellent fishermen, and Jerry Blake fished toe to toe with him all week.  It was a true pleasure listening and watching two professional guides yell back and forth from each boat, FISH-ON Jerry, then Jerry, FISH-ON Burt!
 
For years we've gone up to Canada and stayed at the Red Deer Lodge to experience the vast fishing offered there.  If anyone is looking into a trip down the road please take the time to check this place out, the price is right, the people are right, and the fishing is great.  It's truly one of those great places, that not a lot of people know about.  Ray and Roxanne, the owners are amazing.  They're awaiting your arrival on the front step, they'll take care of all your paper work for fishing, and have it ready to sign.  They're up in the morning to make sure your bait and boats are ready to go, they're great people....   
 
For everyone out there on the fence about Jerry Blake and booking a possible trip, rest assured, he's solid, he's an all pro in my book!"
